How I work...
Therapy shaped around you
I believe therapy should fit the person, not the person fit the therapy.
As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I don't expect everyone who walks through my door to need the same kind of therapy.
We work collaboratively to understand what you're experiencing, what may be contributing to it and what might be most helpful for you.
Understanding the Why Behind the What
At the heart of my approach is curiosity about the why behind the what.
Rather than looking only at a symptom or behaviour and asking how we can make it stop, we can explore the experiences, relationships, beliefs and emotional patterns that may be influencing how you feel and respond today.
Something that looks like "self-sabotage" from the outside can sometimes make much more sense when we understand its history.
A DEEPER, INTEGRATIVE APPROACH
My work is particularly informed by: psychodynamic therapy | attachment theory | trauma-informed practice

These approaches can help us understand how earlier experiences and relationships may continue to shape how you see yourself, relate to others and respond when situations feel difficult or emotionally threatening.
Where helpful, I can also integrate person-centred therapy, CBT, DBT-informed skills, ACT, motivational interviewing and solution-focused approaches.
The therapeutic model isn't the starting point.
You are.
You may sometimes feel pulled in opposite directions.
One part of you wants change while another is terrified by it.
One part wants somebody to come close while another wants to run.
One part knows you need to set a boundary while another fears being rejected if you do.
Rather than deciding that one part is "wrong", therapy can help us understand what those different responses may be trying to achieve or protect.
This can be particularly helpful when exploring trauma, attachment, shame, relationship patterns and feeling stuck.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
We find what feels meaningful and useful for you.
